Digistor Service - Warranty Policies and Charges

Warranty is one of those areas that can be a bit grey - exactly what is covered and what is not covered? At Digistor we try and make sure our clients know exactly where they stand in terms of warranty - what is covered and what is not covered as well as any additional charges that may be incurred.

We have put together the following easy to read summary that, with any luck, should clearly outline what is covered and what is not covered. If further clarification is required please email support and we will clear up any remaining grey areas.

90-Day Digistor Warranty

Applies to: Products purchased directly from Digistor within 90 days. Includes Workstations, Disk Products, Monitors, etc.
Does not include: some 2nd-hand, ex-demo or clearance products specifically sold with reduced or no warranty. Items purchased online from digistor.com.au - these carry a reduced 30-Day Digistor warranty.
Covers: Advanced Replacement or loan equipment (where available), Workshop testing, Telephone support, courier fees to/from distributor or manufacturer.
Does not cover: Onsite technician call, products not purchased directly from Digistor or application workflow issues.
Charges: Couriers/shipping fee for collection/return to customer, if required.

 

Manufacturer Hardware Warranty

Applies to: All hardware products purchased from Digistor – period of warranty determined by manufacturer.
Does not include: some 2nd-hand, ex-demo or clearance products specifically sold with reduced or no warranty.
Covers: Workshop testing, Telephone support, courier fees to/from distributor or manufacturer. Some Manufacturer's also offer advance replacement (charges may apply depending on  manufacturer's policy. Please ask for details)
Does not cover: Onsite technician call, products not purchased directly from Digistor, products found to be out of warranty or otherwise excluded from manufacturer's warranty.
Charges: Couriers/shipping fee for collection/return to customer, if required; extended workshop testing (where required).

 

Out of Warranty Hardware

Applies to: All hardware products with expired manufacturer warranty, all products not purchased from Digistor.
Covers: All work chargeable.
Charges: Couriers/shipping fees to/from distributor or manufacturer and collection/return to customer, Workshop testing (where required), replacement components (as per quote from manufacturer).

 

Apple Hardware Warranty

Applies to: Apple hardware products purchased from Digistor and under AppleCare warranty.
Includes: PowerMacs/Mac Pros, PowerBooks, Xserves, iMacs.
Does not include: Apple Software, iPods, cables, keyboards, mice, iPhones, etc.
Covers: 30 mins workshop testing, replacement components from Apple.
Does not Cover: Onsite technician, Telephone support, express couriers from Apple (standard next day only), extended workshop testing, advanced replacement or loan equipment.
Charges: Couriers/shipping fee for collection/return to customer.

 

Onsite Technician

Applies to: All hardware and software products.
Covers: Technician with transport vehicle and tools, 30-mins of follow-up email or telephone support.
Does not cover: Replacement or loan equipment.

 

Telephone Support

Applies to: All products not covered by 90-day Digistor Warranty.
Covers: Workshop technician on telephone (with follow-up email where needed). Maximum 1 hour on telephone, if problem cannot be solved, onsite technician will be required.
