This is an ideal entry level storage solution utilising lower cost SATAII drives but with the connectivity of SCSI. The single external U320 SCSI connector plus into the SCSI port on your existing server and delivers up to 2.25TB of high speed RAID5 storage. |
These units are slightly larger than the 4 bay unit above. They offer greater redundancy with dual hot swap power supplies and fans and hence are ideal for 24x7 operation. The 8 drive bays increase the overall storage capacity to over 5TB of RAID5 protected storage. These 8 and 12 bay disk arrays also support dual SCSI host connections and therefore can be configured to connect to two host computers if required. |
The 16 Bay is the most popular disk array for the larger installations where a significant amount of storage is required. These subsystems have all the same features of the 8 and 12 bays but have the capacity to handle up to 16 drives or a massive 11.25TB of RAID5 protected storage. This is enough for all but the largest of installs. If your storage requirements are higher than this Infortrend do have a 24DRV model or alternatively you could use multiple 16 bay units. |
