EndemolShine Australia creates some of Australia’s largest television programs. From The Biggest Loser to Gogglebox to Australian Ninja Warrior. They have lots of editors and lots of media, and are always under pressure to get programs to network quickly.
Augmenting Avid ISIS Storage
Back in 2013, EndemolShine Australia (ESA) started looking at DDP as a solution to augment their existing Avid ISIS storage investment. Not a decision to be taken lightly, in 2015 they took delivery of a 2-chassis system and had production work rolling off it less than 2 weeks later. Thirty plus editing, audio and graphics stations all connect to the DDP across the existing infrastructure.

The primary factors in the decision were: bulk shared storage at a competitive price, seamless use from their Avid Media Composer platform (including the ability to use alongside ISIS), simple bolt-on JBOD expansion, simple infrastructure requirements and compatibility with any/all other applications they might throw at it.
ESA use their DDP for high-res media storage and playback, mastering directly from the shared volumes.

Robust System to Meets Ever-Changing Requirements
With 120TB of DDP capacity that constantly gets filled and flushed, ESA has found the DDP to be a robust system that meets their ever-changing requirements. ESA are looking to move up to the DDP v4/5 software release to add more functionality/performance to the existing investment.
